Can we stay in the house while the carpet is changed?

Most people do. We work one area at a time so there is always a room to sit in, and Hamilton’s noise by-law treats construction between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. as the permitted window, so the day is planned inside it.

Where does the old carpet end up?

That is agreed before we start. It leaves in rolled and tied bundles either way, because the city will not take it loose, will not take more than eight items in a booking and refuses renovation material at bulk pickup. Carpet recycling options are worth checking at the same time.

Does the underpad have to be replaced as well?
